What a Special Fish I was fortunate enough to land this incredible fish within the first 20 minutes of the Winter Skins Competition 2026. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to catch many musclecrackers, and although I've landed bigger ones before, this is without a doubt the most special fish of my fishing career. What makes this catch so memorable is the tackle I was using. I was fishing with 30 lb braid, a 0.60 mm mono trace, a 1/0 Adrenalin circle hook, and nothing more than a small sandprawn bait while scratching for smaller fish. On only my second cast of the morning, this powerful musclecracker decided to pick up that tiny bait. The moment the fish pulled the rod flat in my hands, the adrenaline hit instantly. I knew exactly what I was connected to. The fight that followed is one I'll never forget. The fish measured 81 cm and, based on the standard calculations, weighed an estimated 12.3 kg. I truly believe luck was on my side on 18 July 2026. This incredible fish earned me 1st place in the First Skin and also finished as the biggest fish caught on the day overall. Some catches are measured by size, while others are measured by the memories they create. This fish gave me both. It is a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.
