That makes actually perfect sense since his tone is gentler when asking the function of a rubber duck and slightly quieter and so (like you said) Harry could feel included!!!

I mean it’s a very sweet and thoughtful theory but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me… like why would he collect plugs and batteries and stuff if he wasn’t genuinely obsessed with muggles? Why would his ”greatest ambition” be to find out how aeroplanes stay up if he already knew? And it’s stated by everyone that he loves muggles and wants to learn everything to do with them. I dunno, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, even if it does sound like something he might do

OK I'm not a Harry Potter person.. My girls are.. Wife, kids.. Mr Wisley is the best person in the whole films... Listen to me.. His works full time supporting a massive family.. He works with that order, fights the good fight.. His wife gave him several kids.. His wife make a house a home... She straight up beat the evil woman after her daughter.. One kid trains dragons.. One married that blonde woman that loved him even if he was a werewolf.. Two opened up a business together.. One married Harry the chosen one, rich... Ron married Emma waton girl, the most gifted witch of their time.. Ron even made it one to the famous wizard cards.. Pretty sure I'm missing stuff but that man, done well

I like this theory, but then I think about the male archeologists who found a knife in a ceiling and thought it must be a way to worship a sun god, but then a woman came in and said it was probably to keep it away from the children 😆

from the doylist perspective, this is really cute and seems like the possibility that makes the most sense, so it's probably true. from the (in the case of HP quite horrific) wstsonian perspective, i am almost sure JKR did not think about it that deeply. if she confirms this, i almost guarantee it's not something she came up with, but shes just confirming what the fans thought up to explain her stupid a writing
