Shows like America’s Next Top Model normalized weigh-ins, body critiques, and the idea that shrinking yourself was the price of success. Being hungry was treated like discipline. Looking exhausted was called dedication. And so many young women learned to fear food more than malnourishment. Looking back, it’s heartbreaking how much of diet culture was packaged as entertainment. We deserved to grow up hearing that our worth wasn’t measured by a number on a scale. Here’s to raising the next generation knowing their bodies are meant to be nourished not punished. 💛
