The indomie seller knows exactly how I like it, she notices im on my period or have caught a cold when I ask her for more pepper. The mobile money vendor knows number by heart, the cloth vendor calls me when she has a new bale for palazzo because she knows I love them. I could go on. I love life

There's this woman I always buy meat from, sometime ago I fell sick n didn't go to the market for like 2 weeks. The day I finally went to the market, she screamed, and was like where have you been, you lost so much weight, are you ok,she was just turning me round n scrutinizing me,I missed you, hope all is well?.That was d say I realized I meant more than a customer to her.Its so lovely how some people think about us without us knowing we exist in their minds♥️

I moved to a new area that gets flooded so I mostly wear my rain boot. There’s POS lady I withdraw from occasionally, one day I stopped seeing her and I was worried. Then, she came back and the first thing I said was “I stopped seeing you”, I was so happy. In recent times, when rain stopped falling, I decided to wear a white jeans and she was scared for me when she saw me in it. On my way back home, she told me “I’ve been praying for you that rain doesn’t fall”.

There’s this guy who sells fruit at the junction near my office.Whenever I get down from the bike,I usually buy fruit from him and any day i don’t buy fruit he’ll call me over and ask,“Why didn’t you get fruit today?”If I tell him my reason,he’ll simply smile, ask me to come over, and give me some fruit for free.
What amazes me is that he always notices me.Even when he’s busy attending to customers,he’ll look up greet me,or wave as I pass.
A while ago,i fell sick and couldn’t come to work for several days. When I finally returned,i walked past without even noticing he was there because I wasn’t planning to buy anything. He stopped me and said,“I haven’t been seeing you.I’ve been looking out for you.”
For a moment,I felt genuinely happy that someone had noticed my absence.
It reminded me that sometimes the people we think are just familiar strangers are quietly paying attention. We often think we’re simply passing through people’s lives, but we’re leaving little impressions without even realizing it.

this is definitely who the woman who sells fruits in my school is to me... she always knows I get pineapple from her and when I'm just passing she calls me "my baby"

Shop owners, Aboki, even that one neighbor. They’ve most likely seen us in all our different mood/feelings😂. It’s refreshing to know there are still some good ones who actually care❤️

Goshhhh, this is so true and wholesome!
Most times the people we tend to just overlook due to "over familiarity" actually form a huge part of our everyday lives.
Thank you for expressing our thoughts beautifully. You're an excellent writer.🫶🏾✨

This is so beautiful ✨ I literally teared up when reading this, and the thought of a woman I lost recently, though I was a child and she was old enough to be my mom, she always cheefully greeted me anytime I passed her shop, and even on days she saw me on the road, a day doesn't go by where she sees me and doesn't give a beautiful shout out to me.....
I never knew her one on one, but as just a woman who knew me, The news of her death hit me so hard that I cried and sad for a few dayss
The realization that I wouldn't ever hear her voice again makes me always want to be grateful for little things and things I take for granted.😔

I am already someone’s familiar stranger, there’s this woman who sells egusi near the bus stop, if she sees me, she’d ask if I’m buying soon, if I’m on a bike and our eyes meet, she’d greet me

That’s why we have to be presentable at all time the way we speak, respond, move, react and dress. yes nobody cares about you but indirectly you’re part of some people’s everyday life and that just means we all need each other.
