@makilllla: Have you seen a pika before? If you’ve been up on the mountain and heard a high pitched “EEEP”, that was them! Pikas are lagomorphs, meaning they belong to the same family (Ochotonidae) as rabbits and hares! They are so tiny and cute and weigh less than half a pound and measure around 7 or 8 inches long They also don’t hibernate which is kinda neat! They stay active all winter under the deep alpine snowpack of Whistler and Blackcomb🏔️ They’re also quite the little farmers! In the summer they cut grasses and wildflowers and lay them out in the sun to dry into hay. They store them in rocky underground “larders” to eat later!
