@colombiaone: Did you know millions of people may be living with a disease they don’t even know they have? Myalgic encephalomyelitis, commonly known as chronic fatigue syndrome, is a neurological disease recognized by the World Health Organization. It can leave people exhausted after even minor physical or mental activity, with symptoms lasting for days. Although researchers estimate up to 24 million people worldwide could be affected, as many as 91% of cases may go undiagnosed. In Colombia, there is still no official estimate of how many people are living with the condition. Researchers have also identified important links between chronic fatigue syndrome and long COVID, bringing renewed attention to a disease that has remained overlooked for decades.
