As someone who is obsessed with skincare the first and most important thing is SPF!!. Factor 50 every morning and try re applying every 2 hours if possible. Azelaic acid AM and PM (a pea size) (before your SPF in the morning. hydraquinoin but you need a prescription in the UK. I’m going to Dubai in September, over there everything is super cheap (as in azelaic is £8, hydraquinoin is £4 in the uk it’s around £35) and don’t need prescription, start with lower strength azelaic and SPF 50 here. I’m happy to get you hydraquinoin and 20% azelaic when I’m there to send to you as a gift (I know I’m a complete stranger but sometimes it’s just nice to be nice) BUT PROTECT FROM THE SUN OR IT WILL GET WORSE AND IT WONT GO (otherwise this can easily be reversed) x

It doesn’t look bad at all. Use 50spf and a sun hat. Apply vitamin C serum and use tretinoin. I won’t go away but you can fade it. It’s just one of the million other things women have to deal with

I used to work for drs as a aesthetician, cosmalan peel is the best result for melasma, bit spenny but it’s worth it and then maintain with heliocare and maybe a brightening cream this would be ZO or Obaji 💕

This happened to me! It’s called postpartum melasma - never had it before then had my little boy and it just got worse and worse, I did a consultation with boots c and I’m now on treatment called skinoren and it’s helped LOADS like my skin is basically clear of it and also I use spf 50 everyday, I tried everything I was on tik tok so much looking into it and spent so much money until I did that consultation!

Obagi Nuderm system is incredible for melasma. The Perfect Peel can also be very effective, my advice is to go to a medical professional experienced with melasma specifically as it is complex to treat and can be worsened by heat/trauma etc. Oral Tranexamic acid can also be prescribed and is incredibly effective for suitable patients. Lots of amazing options now for all skin types, best of luck 🥰

Hey girl, skin specialist here, this could be pregnancy Melasma! During pregnancy, elevated levels of estrogen, progesterone, and melanocyte-stimulating hormone cause pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) to overproduce melanin. You need to speak to your doctor about prescribing some Azeliac acid and then post partum having a look at something stronger! OBAGI have such a good pigmentation skincare line 💫🫧

Melasma is a skin condition, it won’t ever go away on its own as its deep dermal pigment. Try Obagi Nu Derm it’s phenomenal but definitely not a quick fix! it may not ever fully go and can reoccur again. Likely you’ll need Hydroquinone/Alpha Arbutin & Vitamin A based products long term to continue suppressing pigment cells! Heat/pregnancy/medications are all things that can restimulate melasma but it can be safely managed✨
