@tvikidz: Parents keep telling us the same story: their kid is doing math years ahead of grade level because of this show 📚✨ As a school psychologist, I finally went looking for the actual research. Here’s what I found 🧮👀 The strongest evidence isn’t about Numberblocks specifically, it’s about the method underneath it. Concrete before abstract is a foundational idea in how kids learn math, going back to Montessori and echoed in decades of developmental research since (Clements & Sarama’s work on early math learning is a great modern example 🤓). Kids grasp number concepts faster and more durably when they can see and manipulate quantity before they’re asked to work with abstract symbols. A number on a page is invisible 🚫 A block you can pick apart and rebuild isn’t 🧱💥 Numberblocks takes that principle and animates it, literally. Every number gets broken apart, grouped, and rebuilt on screen, exactly the kind of concrete representation the research says works 🔢 What does exist on the show itself is smaller but genuinely interesting 🔍 A 2025 content analysis (Fauziyah et al.) found the videos score highly on accuracy and engagement, if a bit light on real-world application. And a classroom study out of Indonesia found preschoolers using Numberblocks showed strong gains in early numeracy 📈 Promising, but small scale, not the kind of large controlled study that proves causation, yet 👀 Here’s my honest take: the mechanism is real, and Numberblocks executes it beautifully while somehow also being genuinely fun to watch, which is not easy to pull off 🎉 This show deserves real clinical research at scale. I have 4.5 year old triplets. My one son has known his alphabet and numbers to 20 since he was 2.5, and he has been doing math for a few months now. His two siblings have watched the same shows as him, and they are not nearly as far as him. I would say number blocks works for kids who are interested in numbers, but not as helpful for kids who don't care.

He is three years old and multiples, counts by 2,3,4,5,10. I took him to a restroom at the doctors office and he started counting the tiles by 4 until there was no more to count. I was shocked he was absolutely correct.

I took him to 2 assessment centers that assesses kids level in math, in both assessment he scored a really high score for his age, he is 5 years old and scored at 2nd grade level in the first assessment and 3rd grade level in the second assessment

Teacher for almost 20 years taught all ages from kinder to elementary. Have a child number blocks WORKS. especially with the practice of concrete blocks too by age 3 recognise 3 digit numbers, square numbers too. By 4 was casually eating a square shaped cracker and said what remained was a decimal and I began to recognise the child was reading and identifying them too. I didn't teach any of these formally yet but because I was aware that the first 5 years kids are like sponge I allow him to explore but guide him through self -directed learning.
