I still struggle coming to terms with the fact that I’m never going to have perfectly smooth skin, and I’m never going to have the body I pictured in my head after losing 160lbs. I honestly no idea my body wouldn’t just “bounce back.” I was completely oblivious to everything I had put my body through over the last 10 years. I didn’t even know loose skin was a thing, and I thought my stretch marks would disappear once I lost the weight?? I thought once the weight was gone, that was it. I never realized that losing the weight was only one part of the journey. As much as I love my body for what it’s done for me, I’d be lying if I said there aren’t still days where I wish it looked different. I think a lot of us feel that way and we just don’t really talk about it. We see so many perfect bodies online that it’s easy to forget those are usually the best angle, the best lighting, the best pose, or sometimes not even real at all… The more real bodies I see though, the more I realize I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen someone just living a normal life with perfectly smooth skin, no rolls, no stretch marks, no cellulite, no loose skin, no imperfections. That’s just… being human. So I’m just posting this for a little more normalcy, because I know seeing other women share their real bodies has helped me so much, and maybe this helps someone else realize their body isn’t the odd one out either🫶🏻
