Unfortunately your plant is done for. This happened to me last year. The plant looks ok for now but it will continue to die. ;-/ this year I put tinfoil around the stems when the plants were seedling size. Once a plant gets hit with a vine borer I don't think there is much chance for survival. It's the worst.

Squash bugs are horrible. Next year, spray with neem oil, plant with nasturtium and marigolds, and sprinkle the soil with coffee grounds

All my zucchini squash and the same and after the surgery they kept giving and giving (very grateful) then I just pray BT oil every 7 days for prevention!
