People don’t want to buy houses because of the interest rates . Let’s say you do a 20 year mortgage on a $350k home . By the time you hit 10 years you already paid close to the amount of the house itself because the interest fee adds up never mind repairs and permits. When you hit 20 years you already paid $500k-$550k . Now the house house goes for $600k . So you don’t make any money you’ll have to drop the price to $450k-$400k . The interest is what kills the dream of owning a home. The only people that should own a home are people who could fix the house without paying someone to do it , unless the floors needs to be lifted or major roof damage. The key is to pay off the house in less than five years and not worry about those interest rates. Most people will say “I don’t have $350k at my disposal” I didn’t say buy a house at $350k . It can be $85k-$100k but you’ll be putting that elbow grease on that house.

I was looking to rent here in between tampa and Bradenton fl and the cheapest rent could find was $1,400 a momth plus light bill amd it was a coca roach infested shoe box that was 600sq ft. its ridiculous!! those little homes that are $1000sq ft are going for $2,000 a month minimum

People, Listen to your realtor. I wanted to start at 505k. My realtor said list for 439. I was like F no! She said trust me. So we listed 439. 60 realtors clients came through on open house day. That Monday we got 17 offers. A bidding war started and I got 525 within 10 days.

Yeah issue is all the people that bought the couple years following Covid are EXTREMELY upside down on their homes because they got $200k homes for $480k and now realize they can’t sell them for what they paid for them
