I hadn’t realised you’d been missing from my FYP for the last couple of weeks. Weird

Sometimes high conflict can be coercive control. And the whole reason that he wants the shared care of the dog is so that he can continue to abuse his ex. The fact that he said the ownership of the Dog should go to her but he still wants to have control over vet visits and things like that… it screams coercive control to me. And then you said it was a high conflict relationship and I was like 🤔 💡 yep

That’s sad. I’ve been in a similar situation with my x husband. Our dog was mine in my name although she was adopted when we were together so was a family pet. When we got divorced she came with me & our teenager daughter but Asher loved my x they had a very special bond so we shared custody for awhile then I became ill & was unable to give Asher the attention she deserved so my x took her full time. Our breakup was horrible nasty & toxic but I knew asher adored my x they had a special bond. When I got better she would come & stay with me when he went away. He would go to Europe for 8 weeks every year she stayed with me. We shared vet bills although in fairness to him he paid for anything she needed. It was 💔 for me but I knew they were attached I couldn’t break her heart. Sometimes it’s not about winning

I'd be pissed if someone came into my life and tried to gain joint custody of my dog that I had prior to knowing they existed 😂

I 100% believe that animals such as Casper should be treated as family members and not as property, they are considered dependant as they rely on a third party to take care of them - I also think that the applicant wasn't unreasonable

I thought his request was very reasonable especially given the dogs age and how much longer it’ll live. Plus any vet bills it may incur due to old age would be split

They would have to pry my dog from my cold dead hands before my husband would get them.

My ex husband fought me for every other weekend visitation of our dog. We did not have children together so personally, I felt this was a way to ensure that he remained in my life (until the dog passed away) in some shape, form or fashion. So sad.

I’m imagining Streaky on the stand in court meowing and interrupting all proceedings

Did Mr Wright have to still pay 50% of the dog? Or Ms Berger assumed total financial responsibility as well?

Miss Naydean :
But if a dog is property, why isn’t that property split between the two - like a house or car etc. The only difference is that this is living property so custody arrangements make sense - to a lay person. Perhaps the law needs to change.

16 years old? Chances are the dog was probably dead before they got the outcome anyway

So early it’s glitching…either that or Streaky is interfering with the transmission given the subject matter 😂

It’s really sad, but with so much conflict I think the judge did a great job..ms Berger has been the sole dog parent for most of the dog’s life.
