That part. My mom relies on me for so much. She literally turns her brain off with me because she thinks I can do it better. I have to create strong boundaries with her now which involves me saying no a lot, telling her to do it herself or look it up and calling her out. it's horrible honestly and exhausting. The worst part is when you live with them, and an adult and it's hard to differentiate between being supportive vs being that surrogate for her.

My mom just recently admitted to me that she KNEW she was putting these ridiculous responsibilities on me but that she felt like it “wasn’t fair to her” that she had to raise us alone. Gotcha… guess I didn’t deserve any fairness either…

My experience with this was actually my father venting to me about my stepmom. We ended up having a falling out, and I sided with my stepmom. Now she relies on me to take my father’s place in a way. She’s leaning a lot on me and my siblings because of the fallout. I hope my parents can heal and get better, but it can be very tiring being a secret third party involuntarily

Guys I have a question for you - was your mom a little sister? Bc my mom was and I found a decent correlation between little siblings that don’t do shit that have kids when they’re older and make them be like the “older sister” 🙄
