They say they want their daughters to be smart and independent, but what they really mean is only when they’re children. By the time you’re a teenager and they look at you and see more of a woman than child, those same dads punish their daughters for being smart or independent. As an adult, they will actively tell you to stop working, get married, have babies, and be an obedient wife.
