Everyone takes their cars over these days! I can guarantee at least 50% of those cars could have been foot passengers.

This is Millport on Great Cumbrae island. The sad thing is folks will queue in their motors for over 2hrs to get over spend 1 hour on the island then queue another two hours getting off the island.A bus meets every ferry but folks would rather spend 5hrs in a tin 4 wheeled tin can in sizzling heat. The Queue for foot passengers is never a problem.

I live on another Scottish island and they’re all just getting more and more manic with tourists every summer. Calmac definitely need to have foot passenger only ferries in addition to those that take cars to encourage people to come over on foot.

this is unfortunately what we have to deal with ever time the sun comes out. There is nothing in place to deter people from bringing their cars. Poor Fergus lives in the white house and always ends up having to direct traffic etc to keep from any accidents happening . Crazy that people will sit for over 2 hours to come over thinking that they won't have to do the same on the return

We had a similar experience turning up somewhere expecting total calm and getting hit with unexpected chaos first. It's funny how the best trips often start with something going slightly wrong. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

i mean it is a holiday destination. or day trip anyway. always wxpect lots of other people to have the same idea. queues will be inevitible. it sucks but atleast it sucks for everyone 🤣

ahaha- spotted my car 🙈 we did wait a full 2 hours- and the bus hit one of the cars as well- we'll deffo just go on foot next time!

I love visiting Largs. Always thought about getting the ferry to Cumbrae but, as naive as it sounds, never realised that there was a bus for every ferry arrival so thanks for this!

Never seen that before, I can’t believe so many people take their cars over these days! That’s crazy 🤯 Always just been over as a foot passenger and got the bus, but then how does the bus get past all those cars?

wow biggest hold up we had was a family of geese crossing the road, so bus got slightly delayed.
