Mind you, young men are often protected in courts. Judges say "he is so young, I don't want to ruin his life with a harsh sentence", but then young women are told to take responsibility for the actions of TWO PEOPLE (yes, it takes two to make a baby)? And their future is completely irrelevant? The only difference the men in this scenario comitted actual crimes... Make it make sense.

One of my mom’s biggest flexes was having been a pregnant teen, then parent, in 1968 and then later in life being there to support a young person in our family who needed an abortion. It was a journey for her to understand that supporting abortion and even recognizing that her life might have been easier if she were able to terminate that pregnancy DID NOT mean she doesn’t love her daughter.

I got pregnant with an iud. When I had an abortion I was married, with an 18 month old, and using birth control. Any birth control method can fail. The idea that every woman who gets an abortion is not using it is silly.

if one considers their children a consequence or even a punishment then they didn't want them, therefore they wanted an abortion. Sadly what they don't realize is that the punishment isn't wholly their's. It's also the children's burden to live as a "consequence" that only exists because someone thought they didn't have a choice. That's not what I would want to be the foundation of my life. I dont want to be considered a punishment you have to go through. I'd rather have not been born if that was the case.

I got pregnant at 16, gave birth to my baby boy and I adore him. I’m so glad I did. He’s 14 now. HOWEVER, I would NEVER want someone else to be prevented from terminating their pregnancy… because what? You want to force a baby to be born to a mother that resents, or hates, it? One who will potentially neglect it because she’s not ready. How the fuck is that a good idea? Everyone should have the choice of what to do with their own body. Let alone that a pregnancy is little more than a web of cells in its first couple of months of gestation… it’s not a “baby”.

me and my husband of 28 years aborted what would have been a 3rd kid, because our exiting kids would have gotten less parents. We were able to raise them into amazing adults, because we didn't put societies or anyone else's opinions above our children.

I got pregnant twice on BC. Once on the pill and once on the shot . I found out 23 years later that i have a syndrome that can render BC medication inneffective. The same is true for lidocaine or numbing medicine. It's not always a choice to have unprotected sex. Condoms break and user error can be an issue in young people.
