My grandpa didn’t have dementia but he was blind and when I was 6 I remeber grabbing a hair spray bottle full of water and I sprayed him in the face and told him it was raining my mom whooped me rt after 😭

I was like 6 when my great grandma turned 92. for some reason I thought all old ppl lived to an even 100 years so as Im sitting in her lap, giving her a hug, I say "Only 8 more years!" she died within 8 months.

My mom was super sick and basically could only eat icecream for the high calorie count. I would eat the icecream and blame my 4 year old brother 💔 stole my dying moms icecream and blamed it on a kid who barely could talk

My grandma w dementia has a memory of about 5 mins which leads to her asking me the same questions on repeat so sometimes I like to mix it up and tell her I’m going to Harvard or something. 5 mins later and I’m working as a trapeze artist in a travelling carnival

I accidentally killed my grandpa as an infant... he was in the hospital and my mom brought me to see him and he got excited and tried to jump out the hospital bed forgetting that he ankles were tied to the bed because he had an episode and was violent to the nurses earlier in the day, anyways he went to jump out the bed and fell and broke his neck because his feet were still strapped to the bed... so yea 😭

my great gma had dementia and i’d mess with her seatbelt from the seat behind her every time we picked her up from old lady daycare and i’d make her think she was crazy for feeling suffocated when i pushed on it with my foot

my mom worked in a nursing home infirmary. There was a lady that screamed bees were in her room/ attacking her every day. i used to sit by her door and buzz.

I mean we weren’t related, but I had a resident who had dementia, and he’d often think he was still in the Vietnam War. He thought I was his best friend and I honestly just went with it. I pretended I was in the war with him, tissue boxes were our helmets and his bed was the bunker 💀. It was fun no lie. He passed about a month later.
