Another problem with starship troopers: the book it was based on WAS based. Verhoeven barely read it. The book is even MORE right wing and goes into more depth as to why the federation is the way it is, and backs it up by treating their soldiers as the opposite of expendable with one of the first depictions of actual power armor in science fiction. I can’t wait for the upcoming movie that aims to stay true to the source material.
