Google the population of China during the Great Leap Forward era which was around 550 million. Eighty million would meant 1 in 7 Chinese died, is it logical? Meanwhile the Korean War ended in 1953 in a stalemate and the United Nations had an axe to grind with China which was subsequently placed under sanctions. No access to loans and aids for grains and seeds the Chinese people suffered. Western humanity and civility at its best ie hypocrisy!

Years ago the number of victims was said to be 5 million, some years later it was 20 million, now we have 80 million. I would urge the content creator to do some actual research. It appears that as more westerners get anxious about China’s rise, the number gets bigger. Talk about inflation.

I say what you are afraid to say. During the "Great Leap Forward", or the real cause The Great Femine between 1959-1961, millions and millions of Chinese people died due to starvation, Yes! This though was not because of Mao, but had much to do with the United States, which still resent China forctheir involvement of the Korean War, decided to use their sanction as a threat to other countries who tried to vote for Humanitary Aid to China at the UN. As a result the Aid was blocked, millions of Chinese died because of that.
