People are social. We’re not like leopards. If we were, then yeah, we could live our whole life alone and not have any problem with it. But we’re more like ants 😆 We will shrivel and die (emotionally) if we’re totally alone. The way I always combat it with people who try to act like they don’t want or need deep connections with others is: “Yeah, but solidarity confinement is the *worse* punishment for people *already* in prison, so maybe you’re actually not doing that great, Greg” 🤷♀️

i agree 100%, even as an autistic person who likes to see my friends like only once a month, connection is important! i feel like people are so uncomfortable saying their social battery is low, that they just deny it's important to feel connection. it's okay to only like your friends company SOMETIMES, like that's normal, you're not an anti-social for having days where you'd prefer to be alone and not feel the pressure of working on upkeeping a friendship
