Was at dinner with my family and my brother simply voiced how impossible it is to purchase a house in the current market and my mom got so mad she cried and caused a scene and my dad had to drive her home. So on top of everything else they have zero emotional intelligence.

My mom got her house for less than 100 K and is bragging to me about how she could sell it for half a mill….. when she knows damn well I’m never gonna be able to afford a house in my rent for a one bedroom is 1700….. meanwhile she was helped by her parents and I haven’t helped by her at all. Makes me resent her because I know she’s not thinking of me at all.

They want to spend every dime and then expect their kids to be financially responsible for their care or to live with their kids when they can no longer live alone. My mother was handed down land that would have one day been mine, as per my grandmother's wishes, and she just signed it away to another family member just bc she wasn't using it. The lack of comprehension of how precious land and property are these days to them is repulsive. I'll have to work another 40 years to earn what she just gave away. And the worst part is, she has absolutely no idea why I'm angry.
