@hybridcalisthenics: Can bodyweight exercises train the lower back? Yes, but does it train it *enough*? I'd say: 1. They are worked through almost all movements we do, and especially through things like squat and bridge variations 2. Exercises like hyperextensions can work the area more directly (though not isolated). These can be weighted to offer a lifetime of progress. 3. The danger of not developing the strength "proportionately" to your other strength isn't as big as the danger of not training at all. If anything, it's quite proportionate as it's gotten stronger according to the full body demands you've given it. That said, there is lower back (and posterior chain) benefits to picking up increasingly heavy things. I have nothing against that if scaled safely. So TLDR: I wouldn't worry too much. If you want the best of both worlds, you can add in some deadlifts or barbell exercises. You'll get better at what you train. Have a wonderful day! #hybridcalisthenics
