47 years old. PSA of 20. Did an echo, then an MRI then a biopsy. Gleason 3/4. Radical prostetectomy and cancer free 2 years now, sidefects such as incontinence and sexual function back to 95% after 1 year. Never regretted my decision

I had some symptoms, had a psa test and was slightly raised around 6. Had an mri, found slight enlargement Gleason score around 2. I refused a biopsy. Psa each year goes up by one. Age 70. Offered more tests but have refused on the grounds of low risk and I do not need unpleasant tests especially at this stage of life. 🤔

What is a ‘normal’ level for PSA test? My husband (57 years old, no symptoms) had a routine blood test and was told prostate level was raised, so GP asked him to come back in a month for a re-test to see if the level is consistent. If it is, he will be referred to a specialist.

My husband is going through this right now.. he’s 56.. PSA has been increasing for the last 5 years, his doctor sent him to the urologist with a PSA of 5.99. MRI showed a lesion. Biopsy was done and out of the 11 samples 6 were positive for cancer, including the lesion (that is the size of a blueberry), we are currently awaiting his next appointment on the 12th of August to discuss. The lesion has the Gleason score of 2 all the other spots are 1. It’s very scary, the biopsy was awful and he still has blood in his urine almost 2 weeks post biopsy. I hate this for him but am positive he can be treated. Also mentioning, his father and grandfather also had prostate cancer with very low PSA’s but a very aggressive form. Radiation was done on both of the

Is it true that folic acid can double the chance of prostate cancer in males.

I had routine psa test at 74. It was raised so had MRI and biopsy. Gleason 3/4. Now on active surveillance. Think about it spreading every day. Regret having the test.

My dad and eldest brother had prostate cancer to late for father as it spread, my eldest brother made a full recovery as it was caught early. I get annoyed with my doctor for some reason it’s not flagged up for yearly psa test, I have to keep asking for it. I’m going to make a point of getting it on my file for yearly check without asking. I hope in the near future men can get the PSE test that you mentioned in earlier video.

At 67 I had a PSA test that came back at 6.5 and then had an MRI, biopsy which was found to be PC. I had the new treatment of five sessions of radiotherapy over two weeks back in March this year. I only have to have two PSA tests each year now to make sure the PSA level stays less than 2. 😳

How often should you have the test . I had one a couple of years ago and it was normal. I don’t get up a lot at night to pass urine but I have noticed my flow is not great

Yes no harm in getting a blood test for psa, the outcome of this will determine what is the best option going forward. I was reffered for a biopsy and the result was an enlarged prostate which resulted in tablets to relax the muscles when urinating.

Just a few years back, I had a urinary track infection two times which I had to have treated with aggressive antibiotics at that time. I also had an enlarged prostate and my PSA numbers were very high very high. I should say one test even came out to be 19 this was five years ago subsequently once I got my urinary track infection under control. My numbers consistently dropped and my most recent was one, but mostly because where I live, I can have. I can have this test done as often as I want. It’s very easy where I live, but then number five let’s say my father did have prostate cancer many years ago even younger than I am now I am 60 years old and I feel very good and my numbers continue to be under control but I stay close to my doctor just to be sure. Thank you for your videos. They are great, especially for aging men.
