Usually you can hear how they talk a little bit different, when a child started out profoundly deaf, and you can still hear how they talk a liitle bit different even if they have a cochlear. But he talks just as clear as everyone else. His speech therapist is top tier!! It's obvious that he's also going to be very handsome when he gets older too. His hearing and devices are not going to hold him back in life at all, and that is a massive blessing. I hope you can discourage him from football...I know he desperately wants to fit in, but my 36 year old son has CTE. They once thought CTE was from concussions but now their finding it is from the everyday small impacts to the head over and over from sports like football, wrestling and hockey (and he played all 3). If your Son already has hearing impairment and then were to get CTE as an adult , CTE can also damage your vision. It's not worth the risk. Education is everything. One day you may not be here and you have to assure with his disability that he will have a financially secure future through his education. There are many many many other circular activities to look into.
From CTE my son ended up with muscle spacicity in 4 parts of his body, impaired planning, self control issues, severe insomnia or sleeping 16 hrs a day, night terrors, mood changes, nuero anxiety all hrs he is awake, and a list of about 6 more things. Everyday I'm believing miracles arise for my Son, we received one of restored vision so far!
