maybe the reason the writers say that korra destroyed the world is because she saw the signs of vaatu’s revival but was too late to stop him (this is just a theory im giving her the benefit of the doubt because idgaff what y’all haters say korra is one of the coolest avatars i’ll die on that hill)

I feel like the fandom lacks a lot of understanding on this…Raava and Vaatu are equals. Too much of Raava is too little of Vaatu, creating a vacuum for too much of Vaatu to come in future. When Avatar Wan separated the two, he started the cycle of eras of peace and destruction as the two claw for dominance.

I honestly don’t think it’s Vaatuthe markings are completely different, so it’s likely a new primordial entity. Given Korra’s history with villains like Zaheer and Kuvira, I’m convinced there are much higher stakes at play here. Fusing with Vaatu is the only way to stop the threat, which might explain why Paavi has a twin who will likely become Vaatu's Avatar
