Jennie never said anything. She’d just feel a warm tingle spread across her chest, a small secret smile tugging at her lips whenever she caught Lisa looking. She noticed everything how Lisa would duck her head the second their eyes met, ears turning bright red, how she’d pretend to be busy typing or reading reports when Jennie walked past. Jennie even noticed the little changes Lisa made shifting her desk just a little to the left, sitting up straighter when Jennie entered the room, pausing mid-sip of coffee just to follow her movements. “Still watching her?” her own desk mate, Rosé, whispered one afternoon, catching Jennie smiling toward Lisa’s corner. Jennie blinked, quickly looking back at her screen but unable to hide her grin. “I don’t know what you mean.” “Please,” Rosé chuckled. “She’s got a crush so obvious even the interns see it. But you? You’ve been smiling at her like she’s the only person here for weeks. Why don’t you just go say hi?” Jennie bit her lip, glancing over again. Right now, Lisa was pretending to study a document, but her eyes were peeking over the top of the paper, locked right on Jennie. “Because it’s cute,” Jennie murmured softly. “She thinks she’s so good at hiding it. She has no idea I’ve seen every single stare, little blush, every time she saves my picture like it’s something precious.” She remembered that moment just now, when their eyes met. She’d seen Lisa freeze, almost drop her phone, and duck down so fast. It made Jennie want to laugh and melt at the same time. “Poor thing,” Jennie whispered to herself, fingers brushing the edge of her coffee mug. “She thinks she’s the only one admiring someone from afar.” The afternoon felt endless. Lisa kept her head down, too scared to look up. She thought, she must think I’m creepy now. At 5 PM, everyone started leaving. Lisa stayed, pretending to finish work. She waited until the office was almost empty. Then a soft voice spoke beside her. “Working late, Lisa?” She jumped. Jennie stood right there, smiling gently. “J-Jennie! I’m leaving now—” Lisa stammered, knocking over her pens. Jennie laughed and helped pick them up. “I’ve been wanting to talk to you.” Lisa’s heart raced. “About what?” Jennie leaned closer, voice soft. “About how long you’ve been watching me.” Lisa froze. Her face turned bright red. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to—” “Relax,” Jennie said, touching her wrist lightly. “I’m not mad.” “You aren’t?” “I’ve seen you every time,” Jennie admitted. “For months. Every glance, every photo, every time you hide.” Lisa’s mouth fell open. “You knew?” “I did,” Jennie whispered. “And I liked it.” Lisa blinked in shock. “You liked it?” “I looked back too,” Jennie said, cheeks pink. “I waited for you to say hello.” She fixed Lisa’s crooked glasses gently. “You’re not invisible. And you look very handsome.” Lisa’s smile grew shy but bright. “Really?” “Really.” Jennie held out her hand. “Hi, I’m Jennie.” Lisa took her hand, fingers still trembling. “Hi. I’m Lisa. It’s nice to finally talk to you.” From the corner, Chaeyoung and Jisoo quietly high-five. Jennie didn’t let go of her hand, her fingers stayed warm against Lisa’s. “Are you in a hurry?” Jennie asked. Lisa shook her head fast. “N-No. Not at all.” “Good,” Jennie smiled. “Let’s grab coffee then. My treat.” Lisa’s eyes went wide. “Coffee? With me?” “With you,” Jennie confirmed. “I want to know more about you.” Lisa packed her things in a rush. Her hands shook a little. They walked out together, the office hallway felt quieter, softer. People passing by glanced at them, everyone wondered why Jennie was walking with the quiet analyst. But Lisa didn’t care. She felt lighter than ever. At the café, Jennie sat across from her. She rested her chin on her palm. “So,” she said, amused. “How many photos do you have of me?” Lisa choked on her water. Her face turned red again. see com sec! #jenlisa #jennie #lisa #au #fyp
