That is absolutely a blob of cold solder and is worthless as a solder joint.

Ah yes. I often think to myself, "This connection would be better if a cold blob of soldier were sitting on top of it." 🤣

If you have a cordless one, I'll definitely buy it. But I do more mobile outside work than I do inside

If you could push a button to heat then another to feed it would be great

A real review: had mine a week now. It surprisingly works exactly as it should. The feed is a little fast at times but works. It melts the solder. But, it didn’t make up for me not knowing how to solder. After a couple of YouTube videos and flux I have been soldering connections on a boat project like a mad man! It’s def worth the money.

that was a cold solder joint you show doing it doesn't have enough pop to heat that big of wire and get solder to flow

The video example used is horrible! That looks like my cold worthless solder work! I bought one of these. They work as advertised. I still had to learn how to solder. Honestly they work great. Especially with cups and after a little training.

Solder will flow when it's hot and penetrate into the intended joint.

That is not how you solder a wire. You are supposed to tin the wire first, putting solder on it. Then, you reheated and bond it to whatever you are connecting to

That looks like a Cold solder joint maker, the alloy should always flow to the heat. For those reasons I’m out.🦈

john.tictoc :
if you don't get the wires hot enough to melt the solder it will be a cold solder joint. In other words it won't hold and conduct electricity.
