in case you folks don't know it. there is a little blue sign on every single active railroad crossing in this country. it has a direct number to the railroad with the crossing number. as soon as there is a problem you call that number to get the train stopped

As a truck driver, I still don't understand how this happens. If the traffic in front of you is stopped, you're supposed to stop behind the tracks. I'm not ever sure if that was the case in this situation

That's a bad intersection. You have to wait for crosstraffic to clear then cross the tracks and go. You can't stop for the sign without risk of getting hit by a train.

I work in Zeeland as a truck driver and drove by there today. The road he was turning onto is dirt/gravel and theres and theres a hump/incline. Im certain its because of the loose gravel road and the incline and he couldn't get traction. Theres actually a sign before the road show a picture of a train crash... So it must've happened before. They need to pave at least that part of the road to prevent this. smh

that is a couple of major violations. either suspension of or revoked CDL. let's drive truck how hard can it be to sit and drive anyone can do it.
