As a nurse, I’d like to add that this isn’t true for everyone. Many people with body odor genuinely don’t realize they have it because of something called olfactory adaptation (nose blindness). When you’re exposed to the same smell continuously, your brain gradually stops noticing it. That’s why someone may not detect their own body odor until someone else points it out. However, some people do notice their odor, especially after sweating or from the smell on their clothes. It varies from person to person.
