Most pregnancy announcements come with ultrasound photos posted online or baby-themed parties, but this runner from South Caloocan found a unique way to share her exciting news! Yurie Daet revealed on Friday that she is two months pregnant as she proudly showed her ultrasound result to race photographers while taking on the Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026 last Friday, June 12, 2026. Daet discovered she was pregnant on April 17, 2026. Instead of shelving a goal she had been preparing for months, she continued training under her doctor's guidance. “I consulted my OB before deciding. She told me gawin yung mga laboratory and ultrasound then submit sa kanya to know kung fit ba ako to run. She said yes since being active is my lifestyle daw po and normal naman lahat ng result ng laboratory. Kaya pinush ko na din,” she told The STAR. A longtime running enthusiast, Daet shared that running has been one of her passions since her teenage years, and while she only started joining organized races in late 2025, completing a marathon had long been one of her personal goals. “(I've) been training so hard for this before ko pa man malaman na buntis ako. Naglo-long run ako to test if may nararamdaman ba kong pain (25km, 15km week before the marathon). Since I felt normal, pinush ko na,” she said. Daet's months of preparation paid off as she successfully completed the grueling 42.195-kilometer course along EDSA. Reflecting on the experience, Daet said her first marathon became more meaningful knowing she was no longer running alone. “This marathon wasn’t about chasing a PR. It was about proving to myself that I can do hard things—with another tiny heartbeat growing inside me. I promise to pay this blessing forward and inspire others the same way so many people inspired me,” she said. (Photo courtesy of Yurie Daet) #SocialNewsPH #philippinestar #marathon #marathonph
