The only movie I saw where they knew what zombies were is world war z. They didn’t want to call the people with the virus zombies yet bc zombies seemed too far fetched meaning they had some type of zombie fiction knowledge lol. But you’re right other than that I don’t know many.

I appreciate the video but don't think you understand what lore is and how it comes into being. in werewolf movies they are not dealing with the first instance of a werewolf, the idea being that people have encountered them and passed on the stories creating the lore. same with vampires, etc. for it to exist in a zombie movie, there would need to be a zombie outbreak that every one survived and defeated the zombie outbreak making it trivial

2 reasons that because of the first it becomes one. 1) there was a time that Marvel Comics copyrighted the word “zombies”so only they could use the word. 2) since the word is taken so a new word was needed for the concept so everyone has their own version, walkers, biters, infected, ect. But as a result the worldbin the media dont have zombies because they dont the concept. And bonus for the old media, western wise, the concept of zombies is relatively new. Even the word “zombie” is a mispronounced of the original concept

in the walking dead universe zombie pop culture never existed. Romero never made his movies in that universe. thats really where the zombie lore came from unlike werewolves & vampires that have had lore for thousands of years.

I think it's because if zombie movies had zombie fiction zombie apocalypses wouldn't last very long. in werewolf , movies and vampire movies and stuff like that , they all know the basics of killing a werewolf or a vampire , but it's kind of convoluted and difficult to do whereas killing zombies is literally just shoot them in the face. and having a whole country full of people who watch zombie movies would just make a zombie apocalypse , really short. that's my theory anyway

Bc the ENTIRE zombie movie genre is thanks to ONE man: George Romero. If a ZA comes about in a world where every military member has been watching movies on how to deal with them then the ZA end very quickly

Um Zombie lore absolutely exists outside of movies. The term zombie was created by movies, but lore about the undead has absolutely existed for centuries.

For TWD zombies didn’t exist in their world, in All of us are dead they did mention zombies, but for a lot of zombie movies and shows either the series was created in the late 90’s early 2000’s were zombies weren’t as well known and so there story’s didn’t have it like that. Anything else is just for plot based

If people knew what zombies were, and more importantly, that you need headshots to kill them, then the zombie apocalypse never gets started. At least not in the US. We have more guns than people.
