@papua.new.guinea2023: FAMILY MATTERS BELONG IN COURT, NOT ON FACEBOOK: STAND WITH JOYCE We are concerned citizens writing in support of a mother of two young children whose privacy has been violated through the misuse of social media. A private video was secretly recorded and posted on Facebook without consent. The video was uploaded using the woman’s own Facebook account by another person, believed to be her husband(Micha) or someone recorded her. The purpose of the post was to shame her publicly. This action has caused the woman and her children public humiliation, emotional distress, and fear for their safety. The woman involved is Joyce, from Wapenamanda, Enga Province. Her name and hometown were included in the post, which encouraged others to share it further. We understand there may be personal issues in her marriage. But family problems must be handled through the police, courts, and proper mediation — not on social media. Using someone’s private account to post videos to shame them is not justice. It is cyberbullying and it is against the law under the _Cybercrime Act 2016_ and the _Family Protection Act 2013_. This situation is hurting Joyce and her two young children. Children should not suffer because of adult problems. We ask the relevant authorities to investigate this matter urgently and take appropriate action against the person responsible for recording, forcing Joyce to speak, and misusing her Facebook account #Jaydee_Jaywan to post the video online. The person is currently residing at Sabama, South Side, Port Moresby. We also ask the public to stop sharing the video. Instead, report it. Let us respect the law and protect the dignity of mothers and children in our communities. #cyberbullyingwomens
