but also people were upset how Dylan was responding but people forget that both sprouse twins were there during his active addiction Dylan first hand witnessed it so he's allowed to cope with KJ about what happened

Men also so rarely talk about EDs or body dysmorphia and it's so important when they do because there are teenage boys who are dealing with them because of sports, etc. Matt Mercer has talked about his experiences with body dysmorphia and has received positive feedback in how it's helped other men. I hope more men with platforms can see the good they can do with this vulnerability

It was so so important. Addiction + eds are illness that are frequently denied the nuance that’s intrinsic to their nature, which is dangerous for people on all sides of the problem. My father died from his alcoholism last year and i rarely correlate celebrity tales of addiction with the personal ones of my life but after listening to kJ (who is humorous and charming much like how my father was) i felt so particularly struck! Because it was so damn honest and realllll. Like painfully real. KJ definitely has my respect for that. And this was a wonderful video from you as always!

so much nuance is left out of these conversations and thank you for bringing some back as someone who’s also been on both sides

My grandfather suffered from alcohol addiction till the day he died, and I loved him. I also know exactly the effects he had on my mom and my grandma and my aunt and uncle, and I could never forgive him for that when he was alive. But he was my grandpa, and every time I hear about him I just feel… sick that he never got that help

I’m rewatching The West Wing at the moment (I know, I love it and hate it at the same time) and I actually really appreciated the nuance they used when dealing with addiction. It’s one of the real high points of the series.

It takes guts and bravery and just a working sense of self to talk about our darkest parts. And to do it online/podcast ... he's inspirational in owning every part of our mental illness!

It felt like a conversation that happens with real friends, like the understanding of how rough that situation was while getting some humour and bonding out of it.
