@fetch_media1: Oil prices rose above $100 per barrel yesterday (23/7), the first time since May, as conflicts in the Middle East escalated, with Yemeni Houthis recently attacking Saudi Arabian ships in the Red Sea. The Houthis' attack marks a new front in the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has been going on since February and shows no signs of ending anytime soon. Bob Yawger, director of energy futures at Mizuho, said in a statement, “With the possibility of a ground war seemingly increasing by the day, and tanker traffic restricted through two of the most active chokepoints in the world, crude oil is suddenly positioning itself to within striking distance of the four-year high of $126.41, with the global economy drawing down so fast it will eventually be running on fumes.” [📷 AFP/Getty Images] #FetchMedia #Oil #Finance #War #MiddleEast
