At least on political topics, I've found people who aren't chronically online, usually have nuance to their political opinions. And, in conjunction, also enjoy talking about stuff that isn't politics 24/7.

It irritates me to no end. Idk why we've skewed so far away from women taking any personal responsibility for the choices we make. These men are not sneaky enough to hide what they're really like. It comes out almost immediately.

Way too many people are too preoccupied with the notion that they *must* have a partner, that they feel threatened by the idea of needing to vet a possible match. - Ethics, morals, politics, lifestyle, interests, sex appeal - ALL of these aspects (and more) factor into whether your relationship will be successful. Some people are flexible in certain areas - others are not. To have a compatible & successful relationship, you have to have the due diligence to ensure your non-negotiables are out on the table. - Being single is not as scary as some people think, and it's certainly not as bad as being with someone you do not align with.

I don't agree...there are literal forums dedicated to trick women (and worse) out there...we know tells like "I dont like politics" but men can lie, some very convincingly

ppl who are maga expose they are maga in the easiest ways, just talking to them, listen how they are about minorities, issues with the world. you'll know someone is maga pretty quickly, so it's not that she didn't ask. she knew and didn't care.

Yes some men can and will lie about not being MAGA. However I do think it’s harder when you press them on individual beliefs to see where they stand. Hard to believe they’ll give any good answers affirming liberal/left beliefs and are also maga.

I agree with you but I think the comment was more so talking about men who are inherently conservative but go out of their way not to date explicitly conservative women. I agree it’s very easy to spot if you actually pay attention, but there is a subset of men who seem to get off on dating a self-proclaimed liberal (similar to thinking they can “turn” a lesbian)

While I do agreed with the fact that this issue is common and also with the solution offered, I have also heard plenty of men who lie and encourage each other to lie about their politics and know the "correct answers" like it's a trivia. It is the most prevalent amongst young adults (maximum mid 20s). I have also encountered a few women who didn't ask about the date's politics and I and/or a friend of mine had to insist them to do. But we also had to help with the *how* to ask it so that it wasn't on the nose and the man didn't lie. It is common enough that it's expected they might lie about their politics to make them acceptable for the woman. Maybe it's just different age ranges, but I do not believe it is a very small percentage of men who are lying about it, MAGA or deeply bigoted regardless.

People need have a better level of discernment. For most people; politics is not as much of a deal breaker unless it impacts them directly. They are doing that too they just don’t want to admit it. If politics matter that much then the man or anybody else wouldn’t have got that far.
