my current therapist is much better than the last one i had. the one "issue" i'd say i have with her is that she's constantly asked me how i've dealt with something traumatic or triggering... my answer is always the same. i didn't.

My uncle was referred to EMDR therapy before his transition. He still transitioned but it helped him with a lot of things.

I was sent to a therapist as a child for some reason and I thought “trusted adult”, so I told her about my mom’s boyfriend physically abusing me so maybe the abuse could stop. She asked me what my goal was by telling this little “story” of mine. My stomach dropped. Once session was over, she called my house and told my mom’s boyfriend what I’d said. I almost didn’t survive his retaliation. Still, no one believed me.

I was 13/14, just came out to my mum and the police about my stepdad SAing me, I had the most wonderful therapist, but the courts made me see another. I was worried so I asked my normal one to come with me. When I got there the therapist had INVITED MY STEPDAD INTO THE SESSION. My therapist emiditaly took me out of the building and for a walk. I love her.
