@fixingpain: TMJ dysfunction often starts with tight lateral and medial pterygoid muscles — and the only way to reach them is intraorally. Client in supine position, gloved up. Slide your finger along the inside of the cheek, nail side tracing the upper teeth and gumline. At the very back, you'll find the lateral pterygoid. The medial pterygoid sits just below it. Feel for a small pocket, wiggle in gently, and hold light sustained pressure until you feel it start to release — your finger will drop an eighth to a quarter inch when it lets go. Play in that spot until you feel more give, then move to the other side.
