I’m in the lab and not allowed to confirm any abnormal cell that isn’t in the patients chart already. We had a lady come through the ER with no history and I got to call the doctor and say “I’m not allowed to diagnose and I submitted to pathology but they aren’t here til morning. Anyway if you Google hairy cell leukemia and go to images you will see what I’m looking at” lol

They did an ultrasound on my son’s abdomen and the tech started labeling his appendix, and I said, “so it’s appendicitis isn’t it,” and she just said, “I can’t tell you that… but I’m surprised he’s not in a lot more pain.” Like girl I see you labeling appendix 😂

My favorite was the time that the ultrasound tech and I were looking at the screen and she goes quiet, I'm looking from her to the screen and see the massive ovarian cyst. We make eye contact and stare at each other for a second and then she said "welp" and went on. 😂😂

There was one time where I saw the image and was like “I know you can’t diagnose anything but I do see how that is supposed to be one bone but has two halves” and got a 😬 in response

I love to just ask if I can see whatever it is they took a scan or x-ray of and say "hmmmm I know you cant tell me, but that certainly doesn't look normal"

I was sent for manipulated x-rays to diagnose EDS. Radiology PA went to do the first manipulation and, out loud, went “OOH!” and looked absolutely gobsmacked when my ankle flexed waaaaaay further than it should’ve. I said “well that answers that” and she gave me the same line about a radiologist needing to read the x-ray and I was just like “girl, I know you can’t actually diagnose it, but your face was my answer.”

My 6 yo very clearly broke her arm at her homeschool PE class. We went to the orthopedic center and I had it wrapped in my shirt as a sling so they only knew from me telling them you could visibly see it was broken. It took them a minute to get us back, when they finally got the x-rays they were like “oh shit this is REALLY broken” she broke both bones in her forearm! It was so bad!

Best part is when they first pull up to the ED. One time, I was trying to help an autistic patient into the ED via a wheelchair and when I tried to get her to turn and stand, I got a good look and visibly recoiled at her crunched up ankle. Ig family figured it wasn’t important enough to mention for some reason but my god 😭

My last mammogram came back with a suspicious spot. So had to get another mammogram and then an ultrasound. I was getting soooo nervous. The ultrasound tech was a trainee being guided by a more senior tech. The sr tech said something about marking cysts and I calmed right down. I knew she wasn’t talking to me but by what she was saying to the trainee I knew what they were seeing 😂😂😂😂 (and yes it was just a cyst)

recently had an xray for my hand cause I was pretty sure it was broke. xray tech made a slight face and then I knew it was broke lol.

my daughter got some xrays recently to rule out any injury and I joked with the tech to blink twice if she saw anything abnormal 😂 well she didn't blink and everything was good, so I think I hacked the system 😂
