This might be a hot take, but I blame the mom and the bio dad for this one, the mom is at fault because I don’t think she punished her enough, she sticks up to her husband, but she’s reprimanded by her bio parent, as for the dad, there’s a possibility that the dad is talking shit about OP and spreading lies, but, OP is no saint too, you could just took the phone altogether and keep it instead of snooping

It's a usual thing that happens with children and their absent parents. They aren't there for them to see their flaws as often, so they cope by making them up to be someone better in their heads. It's a better delusion to face than to confront that the absent parent just doesn't love them

the fact that the comments all expected the father to apologize but never for the daughter to apologize is crazy. The first talk should’ve been him saying he shouldn’t have implied she’s not his daughter, but he cannot continue to treat her like his daughter if she refuses to even treat him like a person. Then he should’ve explained that he’s not paying for the plane tickets and that she needs to apologize and go to therapy.
