Much of the source material came from hajwalah—a form of extreme car sliding that became especially well known in Saudi Arabia and neighboring Gulf countries during the 1990s and 2000s. The style has since evolved into an online subculture that blends car culture with dreamy, nostalgic visuals rather than simply showcasing the driving itself. Many of the cars featured in these edits are ordinary front-wheel-drive sedans like the seventh- and eighth-generation Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Hyundai Sonata, chosen not for outright performance but because they became common sights in the original viral clips.
