@ai.mindscope: The company that built this machine shut down decades ago. The machine never noticed. ⚙️💀 1939. Hamburg. Still cutting precision gears today. 87 years later. Here's why it refuses to die 👇 🔵 Cast iron frame — 87 years of internal stress fully settled 🔵 More dimensionally stable NOW than when manufactured 🔵 Continuous cutting oil — preserved precision for nine decades 🔵 No digital controls — nothing to update, corrupt, or fail 🔵 Same mechanical process — unchanged since 1939 Here's the engineering truth nobody teaches 👇 Modern machines are built to be replaced. Planned obsolescence is a business model. This machine was built before that idea existed. It outlived its manufacturer. It outlived entire industrial eras. It outlived the engineers who built it. And it shows up to work every day. 👀 We didn't build machines better in 2024. We built them cheaper. 💀⚙️ Save this — an 87-year-old gear cutter still working is the most powerful engineering statement ever made. 🔖 Follow for weekly breakdowns on the machines built before obsolescence became a feature. #VintageMachinery #GermanEngineering #PrecisionEngineering #ManufacturingHistory #MachineTools

If they’re so great where are all the other ones built at the same time? Survivorship bias will trick you into thinking every medieval building was a cathedral and every machine made in the 30s is still working.

It's a simple machine and has probably had the motors and all wear parts replaced 500 times lol

I was a senior tech at a CNC facility. They had machines so precise that the goverment monitored them. constant issues. In the back was 20 Acme Gridley machines. 1930-40s. rarely had any issues

Electronics fail pretty quickly. We have a 40's model press. Only needs air to operate. No electricity.

Engineering is all about creating obsolescence and demand, no company stays in business that makes something last forever unfortunately
