Some awful takes here. For starters, if any united fan had said we’d finish 3rd this time last year the reaction would’ve been the same. Secondly, it’s been proven time and again that big money marquee signings don’t live up to the price tag at man united (e.g pogba, sancho, antony, veron etc.). And finally, to say there’s not even a possibility we could challenge for the title is ludicrous considering he beat every top 6 team and picked up more points than any other manager in the league during his period in charge. As the caller said, with some more recruitment there’s every chance we could challenge (although probably not win it)

I don’t even agree with the caller but it’s hilarious how they pulled up the ONLY 2 losses United had under Carrick in like 6 months🤣 I don’t think United will be challenging but based on a pretty decent sample size it’s not completely outrageous

United have every chance, a very open league this year. You don't need to sign superstars, you need profiles and to raise the floor of your squad. Also, never bought the argument of United not being in other competitions. They also had a smaller squad, so players got less rest. Clubs playing cup and European comps weren't playing the same starting XI midweek and weekend. Arsenal fell over the line last year cause refs didn't enforce rules at set pieces properly, but another was because they raised the floor. Nobody was here saying Arsenal will win the league because of Zubimendi, Mosquera , Madueke and Hincapie. It meant they had options. United are trying to build a squad with options and versatility.
