🚨This week, a scammer spent seven days trying to convince me he could get my stolen money back. For five hundred dollars up front, (for documents) of course. I've heard this exact pitch hundreds of times. But this time, I decided to prove something. I asked him one question: who do you work with? He told me the name of a real law firm. A real one. So I called them. They said they'd never heard of him and it was most likely a scam. That's not just a lie. That's identity theft against a law firm, used to try and rob a fraud victim a second time. And here's the thing — this isn't rare. few days ago federal prosecutors filed to seize twenty-five million dollars in crypto tied to scams just like this one. a scammer targeted someone who'd already been robbed, and offered to recover their money — for a fee. There's now a federal task force just for this. They've recovered over eight hundred million dollars since November. here’s your MEDICINE if someone reaches out saying they can get your money back — stop. Ask for their company name. Then call that company yourself, using a number you find, not one they give you. If they get cagey, or tell you not to tell anyone — that's your answer. Real recovery doesn't start with a random Gmail account texting you and requesting a fee. It starts with a name you can actually check. when I told the scammer the law firm had never heard of him he told me to stop texting him..
