we used a carpet cleaner on all the carpets before we handed the keys back and then they had viewings in between confirming the end of tenancy and tried to blame us about mud on the carpets afterwards..good thing we took photos of everything lmao

My agent was the exact opposite I was so lucky. The landlord wanted to make me pay for a second clean and also to have the carpets cleaned when they’d been done by a professional company (fortunately had video they guy sent me). My agents stuck up for me and I got the whole lot back.

my partner and I moved in with our 2 friends and the two people who moved out before we were there got charged for a carpet cleaning and guess what.... the carpets were never cleaned ☠️

I have done this on two seperate occasions. Its amazing how quickly "issues" are "resolved" when you talk about legal representation, especially when youre a uni student.

why are landlords obsessed about the deposit? I lived in NZ for years and had a house share. we hired a team to completely nuke the place before we left, it was incredible what they did and the landlord was like "yeah nah, theres this, this and this so your deposit will be used". gobsmacked 😂
