I had a menstrual cup that had measuring lines on the side to tell me how much I was bleeding. And I KNEW I was bleeding more than normal because I was filling that whole thing up to overflowing several times a day. I took those measurements in millilitres to my doctor and he sounded like he had never heard of a menstrual cycle before beyond the fact that women are supposed to have them

Pads never absorb the way they're advertised. It takes far too long for it to absorb if it does at all usually it just sits on top. It's because blood is obviously thicker than saline. I don't know who's idea it was that saline is a good idea or why it's still being used. They don't even need to use real blood. They could easily use something else with a more similar viscosity.

I absolutely hate using pads but tampons and cups hurt and underwear was too uncomfortable. 😭 I'm happy my period has gotten waaaay shorter the older I get. 🥳

giving physicians the hard numbers (ml) didn't help them understand either. using cups & discs, you can note how much fluid is lost at each change but because they don't understand what is a normal number, they dismiss it

If men were the ones with menstrual bleeding the standard of health care would be 10+ times better and we might’ve found a way to stop the bleeding all together… can someone sue the companies who but in a false test for criminal negligence and false advertising?

People need to care more about women’s health and change the stigma around periods because if companies won’t even use real blood then Me a 16 year old is going to have to keep using maternity pads that feel like I’m wearing a nappy and that’s not fair at all
