miss you Charlie boy ☁️🩵 for context: my childhood dog passed away very suddenly from cancer about 3 years ago right before his 10th birthday. I already have a tattoo of his paw print but I also decided I wanted to have an artist on Etsy create a ring made from his ashes, so I looked up how to legally ship cremated remains and from my research online it was it was only legal via very expensive shipping & special packaging through USPS. So, I ordered this packaging and went to ship a very small amount today. Because this was an emotional experience, I wasn’t thinking and accidentally went to UPS instead of USPS and made a label with them. When I got home I quickly realized my mistake and went back to UPS to get my package back. The manager was very rude to me and made me feel bad about having someone get my box back & made me pay a restocking fee. He also said it was fine to ship remains via UPS and they’ve done it before. However, it felt wrong so I politely declined, paid the restocking fee and left. I then brought my package to USPS and was met with yet another rude employee who told me it was $55 to ship the very small amount of remains in the box (UPS quoted me $23). I explained my situation and while it was expensive and frustrating, I wanted to do it legally. Just feeling very overwhelmed by my experience at @UPS & USPS frustrated by inconsiderate people. This is your friendly reminder to be nice to customers when you’re at work, especially in situations like this. It costs nothing to be kind 🩵 #ups #usps #kindnessisfree
