you are not right about it being a harness issue. I had a 05 LLY and an edge CS3 tuner. for several years it worked and then it stopped working. I sent the tunner to Edge roe repair and that didn't work, I changed out the wiring between the OBD2 and the ECU and that didn't work and no obe could fix the ECU because what was wrong is not something anyone fixes. what I was told was I needed a new ECU!

Ik on the gasser gmt800s if you have an aftermarket radio sometimes it won’t let you connect to the ecm idk on duramax

thats definitely a LLY thing as far as not being able to read the tune . I made myself a bench harness for the ones I do and it works well . just take the blue ecm connector from a junk harness and a dlc connector and you should be able to read it .

whenever I flash EFI live sometimes it will fail I have to disconnect the radio and it will auto config start the process over and it will work just fine

Is the security light on or have a hidden bcm code? Might be why you can’t get into it in that truck. Can you tune it on the bench if you take it out of the truck then put it back in?

some kind of class 2 serial data issue ran into the same problem on 2 of my lb7s eneded up being bcm on one and rubbed wire on the other just takes down the high speed network

I had a similar issue with an lly if you turn off high speed it’ll flash just takes 3-5 business weeks
