That may be a cistern to catch rainwater. If so, it can be cleaned out. A tiny house with water tanks, solar to charge batteries for electricity & a composting toilet may be things you want to look into. Good luck & I can’t wait to see your progress. I really hope that actors start suing soon. Especially Henry Cavil, Michelle Pfieffer, Taylor Swift….My summer IP/Copyright students had a lot of “fun” discussing this issue and creating a list of who was being used in these. Things won’t change until the new tech is challenged and litigated. It’s what happened when the internet was created and music/movies had to find ways to protect their rights. Biggest advice having lived like this, make sure you keep a scrap pile. Throw out trash, obv, but keep a scrap pile, never know when wire, or that one piece of wood would just be perfect and then you don’t have to go find them and pay
