As a mum of 4, I totally get this. We are fortunate to be able to comfortably pay our mortgage, have no other loans for anything, I work part time and am studying my masters, we can afford to renovate, or go on holidays if we wish, so I feel privlaged BUT I have neighbours with 2 kids that live week by week and never even been overseas, who are so incredibly grateful when we upgrade appliances as we offer them the old ones, I have best friends with 2 or less kids that have worry every week if their rent is going to go up and they will be without a house because they can’t afford it. The struggle is real for a lot of people, and although I am not currently experiencing that same financial burden and sacrifice, we are one lost job away from potentially being in the same position. I get why the next generation are choosing themselves, because, I gotta tell ya, the generation before them are struggling!
