My controversial take is the EXTREME hatred for trad tattoos is also coming from a conservative angle. People can have tastes and are not required to like a style. That’s totally fine! I like both fine line and trad plus my two tattoos are not traditional even! But I saw a girl covered in traditional tattoos that were all done well and cute and people were saying how ugly her tattoos made her look. It feels like people are saying fine line =dainty and feminine and therefore trad is masculine and ugly on women. It’s not lost on me that a lot of the tattoo regret videos are people with fine line flash spur of the moment tattoos. Some comments feel like a personal tattoo style opinion but some start to feel strangely conservative positions not coming from personal style choice but from something deeper.

i view my ‘regrettable’ tattoos as a story of who i used to be. like i might not like it now, but i did when i was younger and that makes me happy, remembering how much i wanted those particular tattoos.

I really love that most tattoo artists I’ve met have changed a Pinterest idea of mine to a tattoo that is completely me! When it’s personalized more to you and embodies who you are, I believe you’ll regret it much less. I am 21 now and am trying my best to limit how much I want considering I’m not even sure how I wanna fill my sleeve! But I agree. People need to find something that connects to them, not a superficial trend that disappears after a couple of months

tattood adult who doesnt regret their tattoos here, have gotten tattoos since i was 17. 24 now. dont regret any of them nor do i care. i truly think people focus more on the tattoo theyre getting individually rather than "do i want to be a person with tattoos"

I knew I wanted to be tattood from head to toes when I was in kindergarden. But I also know, that my frontal lobe is still developing, so I rather safe myself some skin. When I think about the motives I wanted 10 years ago i wanna burry myself😭

got my first one at 25 I just got my hand and fingers done at 33. I did have a few small ones for 3 years before just to be sure. The tattoos I dont particularly like I see as part of a story.

My mom is heavily tattooed, my parents friends are heavily tattooed, some of their friends are tattoo artists, we are metalheads so most people are tattooed at shows. When I wanted my crow, they just made sure they knew exactly who would be tattooing their 16 year old. If you want it, if you REALLY want it, if you are ready to wear a jewellery for the rest of your life, Go for it 🩵
